Tomorrow, we as Malaysians celebrate our 49th year of independence.

This year's national level celebrations will be in my very own home town, Kuching. Been a couple of years since we last hosted the national level celebration.
The one true good thing I see about this is the fact that Sabah and Sarawak aint got their independence till 1963, and here we are celebrating the peninsular's independence and actually be proud about it. Its just great. We celebrate as a nation.

Like some bloggers around, I will come up with points on why I can feel lucky to be a Malaysian. This is a month to be thankful.
Durian Season (pic above) If you're sick of Chinese food, there's always malay and indian and whatsoever. And there' all considered local! Studying sucks.
Drowning yourself in books and forgetting half of them in a minute just to score in test. A really dumb idea.
Its not like I studied alot but seriously, the pile of crap we learn each day, we're not really going to use them in the future you know. Want to know our intelligence, there is this thing called an IQ test.
OK. Test in general aren't that bad, but studying for it is just bad. Bad bad bad bad.
If we're required to learn, assignment and project based learning + apprenticeship, thats the way to learn. Not hiding behind books and notes. Agree with me, its just gay.
I hate studying!!!

Pancakes are the most heavenly things to eat.
People ask me, pancakes or waffles?
I say pancakes. And they were like... WHAT??
Thruth is, most people preffer waffles because of its presentation. Inner bumps if you like to call it, or maybe the heart shaped slices looks appealing.
But nothing taste better than pancakes with maple syrup, like Rainman use to say.
In this part of the world, Honey will do.
A good stack of tasty pancakes.
One day, If I have lots of money and I'm sick of my job, I'm going to open a shop called 'Planet pancakes' (hopefully this idea is not taken yet)

I'm going to sell pancakes for very high prices!!!
"Wow, so expensive!!! Must be darn good"
Yes :D
Pancakes of different shapes and sizes, up to RM20 (according to today's inflation)
And the amazing cheese pancake!!!

The cheese pancake deserves an entrance song.

In case if you're in Kuching(or not in Kuching) and You missed it, that's just too bad.
Yes, its that every time of the year, foodstores flock to the 'Dewan Masyarakat' To sell food twice their original price! Yes! Every year all the same Kuching Festival!!

Because the place was like so crowded, this map/directory is totally hopeless.
What the crowd looks like on a not so crowded day.
Same night, same spot, different view.
One thing that I believe people come and look forward to is the Taiwan Sausage.

Its not any regular taiwan sausage,

Its the taiwan Sausage of all taiwan sausages!!!
Somehow they allowed this incredible good for nothing blown up arch in the middle of nowhere, heading to the exhibition zone off course.
This time, they sell Jolly Shandy for Rm1.50!! Hey, thats something with an undoubled Price!!!
Lamb from Mango Tree also a must have. Reasonably cheap.
They placed a stage and have a couple performance by amateurs every night. Everyone flocks to see a bunch of nobodies sing just cause its free.

One for the kids, and spoilt girlfriends :D Rip off balloons.

Lets not forget the garden show, where businesses use this time to advertise their creativity and ability. Some rich fellow is going to walk pass and say, "I want my garden to look like that!"

This 1 is noisy. Really. Kling klong kling klong

Missed it??? There is always next year.

Sorry (darn, again?) for the delay of post.
I had internet connection problems lately.
Anyways, I visited Memories last week. Probably my 1st visit since the place got burnt down last year. This visit was a friend's going away farewell lunch as she is (already) going to Indonesia to well, study.
Cheese are great, with almost anything.
I ordered

Cheese baked garlic bread and

Cheese baked wings.
Cheese is the best thing in the world. I'm not too concern about the type of cheese I eat, bur Cheese Cheese Cheese!!! I love it!
How can one actually hate the fresh taste of stale milk?? How? You tell me!

I finally engage myself in the battle of a size 4 ball in an enclosed area with 9 other guys. Its been literally months since I played and I'm as rusty as ever.
By the way, I think its new, but I played at Sentosa Badminton (insert word). If I'm not mistaken, the futsal courts are new and they are much cheaper than Winner's Court or Sports Planet in Kuching. However its distance from town is just lets say, far!
On my side bar, under 'Bits of this and that' You might be able to see 'Ads by google' (depending on how blind or how dumb you really are off course.) Feel free to click on one of the links and explore a little because I actually earn money from it.
Whether I turn rich or not, its in your hands.
Think about it.

The PC fair was recently around, and like other Malaysians across the country, I had to make a stop.
Probably like everywhere else, Its crowded like hell. We're talking 4 persons per meter square. Just do the math. Honestly, I couldn't be bothered looking for great things to buy due to the crowd. Heard there were really cheap stuff and after hearing stories, yes there are cheap stuff there!
If only I could like digitally remove everyone from inside and transfer them somewhere else while I visit the fair.
Basically the crowd of dense lifeforms restructured the air molecules of the area to become well, densed. You cant walk in there. Literally, you swim. Swim through bodies of unknowns and each body is swimming too. The closest example to this is being a ribenaberry in a bottle of ribena like the advert. Go picture it youtself.
For the past week, I've been spending my salary like crazy. And I didn't really get anything for myself! Drats.

Parking in Kuching in the day during office hours is just tragic.
Because I refuse to park in multiplex carparks unless I'm watching a movie and many a times its unneccesary to do so due to constant migration, I reused my parking coupon tens and thousands of times.
Only in Kuching (not sure about the rest of Sarawak) where you are advised to park in a space of half an hour for 20 cents. After that, you will be fined for further parking fees, in the cents of course.

Got around 4 parking fines today totalling a massive RM2.43!!!!
Off course If I chose to park in super carparks provided with security, I might have to pay a darn lot more.
But still, there should be a couple of legal free parking spots in the town area. Really.

First day of Year 1 Sem 2.
And the parking spaces are gone! just like that.
Suddenly with another batch in the block, the building is simply not big enough for all the students. The Campus is tiny! The library isn't big enough, neither is the student lounge or the comp labs. Something must be done! And fast.
This semester, I'm taking the recommended 4 subjects. First off today was Electronic Systems. Speaks for itself. But what the heck am I doing this paper for? Because Buildings have electronics too! Lame excuse, but I hope I'll do okay in it.
Next up, Mechanics of Structures. Also speaks for itself. Sounds interesting. I might just like this subject alot.
2 more subs which I haven met my respective lecturers yet but hopefully all goes well.
I need flying colours grades this time. No more excuses. And I need to stop slacking.

I went to Kuching Fest for the 3rd time in the week and failed to bring a camera again. This time I left it in the car. Darn...
Year 1 semester 2 starts tomorrow. 3 and a half years to go(if I dont fail anything). I don't feel like studying yet. Studying sucks. Don't you think?

I finally visited Scoops.
One look from outside (forgot to the the outside picture again) looks grand and all. Bing or Tao material if you know I what I mean. Instead of selling good old coffee like the other places, Scoops sell, Gelato.
Huh? What's gelato? No offence but there are a large population of Malaysia that doesn't know what Gelato is.
Think Ice-cream.
Ingredients? Milk, sugar and the flavouring, usually fresh fruit.
No cream. so not Ice-cream. Geddit? (fine... Get it?)
Okay fine, in Italy, Gelato is Ice-cream. But the way its made became popular all over, so people specifically call it Gelato instead of Ice-cream cause of the way its made and its ingredients. Simple.
What do I think of Scoops?

The menu is generally pricey. Expected, but class can overcome priceyness. So I expected class.
First thing, they got people to line up!!!
Outdoor Deco's pretty good. Nothing too fancy. Just plants.
THe inside is bright, unlike other places where darkness is the key of comfort. Comfy homey and all.
And I manage to bump into familiar people. Hello coursemates. Gonna see these people more in the weeks to come.
Okay. Time for their servings.
I don't know what this is, but its the replacement for our Chocolate Pudding. Believe it or not, This cost RM12!!! Not bad for presentation but should I exclaim, "RIP OFF" This is not 5-star hotel okay.
At least this peach passion fruit thingy looks okay for RM12.
So how's the Gelato? Honestly, not as good as I expected. Maybe should just order plain scoops the next time I go, if I ever return that is. And for some reason, they failed to serve us tiny glasses of water like everyone else.
In case you didn't know where's scoops, its opposite Hilton. Business will flow like water if its in Jalan Padungan.

How much the internet change over the years. Darn a lot I say. In a social perspective anyways.
I remember the good old days where mIRC was almost everything. Everybody register their nicks and promote their channels. Everybody wants to be an op. Everybody wants power. So much for stranger chatting. Then the crowds move to stuff like ICQ and Messengers cause its all about chatting with friends. Now everyone is either yahoo messenging or MSN.
16 months ago I must so go on MSN everyday or I die. And I haven been on MSN for more than a week now.
People use to Yahoo their information. Then Google turned out better, and it actually became a word. I googled this and that.
Did I mention Friendster and its who's got more friends craze? Its crazy!!!
And ragnarok, prison tale and all those online games happened.
2MB emails used to be more than enough. Now 1GB mails are considered small!
And silly blogs like this one are made everyday. Somehow, 50% of them are just abandoned.
downloading mp3s use to be a norm. Now downloading tv shows and movies are the norm.
Its a crazy social internet world.

Anyways, I finally got my full D driving license. I spent 2 years holding a P license(like it matters) and now I feel complete. This is where I boast my superiority over those P license holders because I just can.
Acutually no, its no big deal. Both are the same. The only difference is that I don't need to go driving around legally with a P sticker on the front and the back of my vehicle. Simple as that.
I still remembered how I passed my driving exam 2 years ago. After dominating the hill section, I took the rest of the exam easily and with that, easily passed with Melvin. Had lessons for like so darn long because my instructor don't give short lessons. Somehow it helps.
