Its the first day of Uni, like bev said, it feels like the 1st day of school.
When some dude dyed his hair everyone must pretend to act surprise and go wish him Happy New Year.
My first day of school lasted one an a half hours.
Walk there, go to class, fill in name for attendance, go down to admin to buy notes, learn a bit, and dismissed.
And we did stats. I dont want to count my donkeys before they are hatched, but I think I can do very well for this.
This Sem, my timetable is designed in such a way that I will enjoy my Mondays, only 2 hours of class. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday is a different story. At least friday is another 1 class a day... day.
The good thing about being in the 2nd year is to see 1st year students that think that they are seriously very smart to be in Uni. They walk around with slips with subject names and subject codes like they will suddenly forget them any time of the day. Its like saying, 'Look I'm taking Bla bla bla... I'm so cool right?'
Haha!

Its the Oscars day, and I watched one of the 5 movies running for the best movie of the year. I shall bias-ly pick Little Miss Sunshine to win since its the one that I watched among the five.
Its the kind of movie that reminds us why we like films like the Godfather and Sesame street.
Okay, point is, today, the world is filled with fast paced films that tries to squeeze a whole novel into a 2 hour slot, and everything is about action, fight scenes, nude scenes, special effects, we all forgot about the quality behind the story of the movie.
Little Miss Sunshine is comparable to err... Napoleon Dynamite. A story about how mediocrity is around us, and how we act towards it. About a family that is pretty screwed up but tries and is pretty good at heart. About a cast that is pretty much unkonwn (I only know Steve Carrell before I watched this) and how they can perform pretty well. About comedy that doesn't involve a guy slipping on a banana peel or having someone's pants fall.
It sure is a film that will never sell millions, and might never appeal to the general public but is greatly appreciated.
Hope you guys win big in a few hours.

My phone went blank. Well, something is wrong with the screen.
Yes, I can make outgoing calls if i remember your number, or at least where the position of your name is in my phonebook. And yes I can receive incoming calls.
I got a new screen today... and 2 hours later.. its all blank again. And the fact that school is starting in 2 days is not really helping much.

Yes this is the worst Chinese New Year ever. Worst Ang Pau money in probably 10 years, probably the most boring in years, and err.. okay la its not that bad. But compared to previous years, this year's celebration is just below average.
Visiting was limited, everything seems to be in small numbers this year.
Oh, I went to Cikgu Danny's house today. Cikgu Danny, or we just call him Danny Kueh is my form 3 BM teacher, but I know him from the football club earlier on in form 2, is probably the most metro sexual man I know.
Ended up spending 4 hours at his house talking about the past, the present and the future. And he remembers quite a lot about me. Impressive.
Another note: I went to enroll in Uni this morning. It took quite long, longer than expected, longer than it should be.
Next week Monday, my 3 month holiday is gone, and its back to business. My School days buddies are gone, and its the repeat of 2006. Back to the routine.
Crap, its so soon...

Its Chinese New Year Eve people. Its here. The most anticipated season of joy to most chinese folks.
Officially my last day of being broke. Tomorrow its ang pau collecting time. And this year, I will strive my very best to make sure I have a good amount to enjoy a prosperous year ahead of me. I would lie if I say that I'm not interested in collecting red packets filled with cash. The amount does not really matter to me, as long as its there with cash.
Hey, its the richest time of the year for me... No way am I feeling any richer in any part of the year... No way.
Let the money collecting begin!

Days before Chinese New Year is not as good as it should be.
I'm pretty much flat broke, and telling myself... 3 more days and I'll start collecting Ang Pau money.
And yet, I'm looking at probably the dullest Chinese New Year ever.
The Pre-cny hype is not living up to its name.
The only great thing going on around is that supermarkets are selling CNY goodies for very low prices.
Which means everywhere you go, heading to town will be so congested(traffic) that driving around is not that fun any more.
And my parents are not working these days, staying at home making cookies and cleaning the house, which means there goes my holidays where I'm so used to being alone at home and doing whatever I want... and I have to pitch in and clean this and that.
Sucks.

Today is Valentines day. Although I do believe in love, and there should be a day celebrating all this, but this is insane.
Everywhere you go in town today, you see stalls set up by the road, selling balloons, flowers, teddy bears and everything one can give to a girl on this so very special day.
1 thing: A guy's worst nightmare!
Okay, yes, it should be special and all, but like many others, I believe its over commercialised and everyone wants to take advantage of poor couples, especially the boyfriend's wallet.
Every restaurant will charge double, suddenly flowers are so damn expensive, suddenly this suddenly that...
I cant say I dont support the fact that a day is invented to support love and all but... really.. this is insane.
I agree with many other men out there. Give your wallets up and get nothing in return. Face it, 15th of February is going to be like any other day again.
Save your cash for a much more important day like a birthday or maybe your anniversary. Don't ever buy your girlfriend anything fancy for valentines day!
Hang out, do whatever, I dont care.
Happy Valentines day lovebirds! :D

Mondays feel like fridays when its the hols. I woke up this morning and asked myself, what am I going to do all day today while the sun is up smiling at my face...
I stood in bed and think really really hard. Why do anything when I can do absolutely nothing?
Therefore, while the sun is up today, I plan to do nothing.
How good am I at doing nothing?
Depends on what nothing means though. IF its absolutely nothing, then I failed. After 2 minutes lying in bed I got bored and get up straight away.
Today is also the day some of my coursemates are taking their resit exams. Good luck to you guys, hope you guys can make it through this time. No one likes to repeat.
Today is also the day Indra and Rod leave for Melbourne.
Today is also the day my mom decided to take a leave to make cookies for chinese new year and I didnt know about it.
Today is also just today.
Sse you tommorow.

All good things must come to an end. All borrowed items must be returned.
And there it goes...
So it seems that this friend of mine returns to cat town so much sooner than I expected. I thought I could keep the PC for Chinese New Year, guess not.
At least I had fun with it, and watching movies on this thing is almost like going to the cinema I tell you.

I believe a lot of guys my age have never ironed a shirt before. Yes I know some of you do.
The last time I ironed my shirt was in Subang Jaya, when I had to go back to Kuching the next day, and the shirt that I washed the night before was still wet. I spent the whole night til morning (around 3 or 4 i think) ironing the shirt til its dry.
At home, we do own an iron and an ironing board. But you see, we never bother ironing anything. Its been at least 3 years, or maybe 10 since the iron was last used.
And because I was given a few shirts, I decided to iron them.
Yes, I can do it!
Look at the before and after side by side.
Before..
After..
Not bad eh.

The past few days have been a replay of the past few days before that. This holiday thing become quite a routine. Because Kuching is not the entertainment hub that I hope it is, and I don't have money that flows like water, A lot of going out time is spent lepaking in kopitiams or food courts. What the West Malaysians called 'Yum Cha'.
Its not like I dont like it, I do enjoy sitting around doing nothing and hearing stories once in a while, but I guess, I need a little more excitement for the holidays before I continue drowning myself in books at the end of this month. Just realised how classes will start at the end of this month!
During school days, 1 month holiday is like the greatest thing to look forward to. Now I get 3 months, and it feels so darn short!
